Our 68RFE HD Stock Transmission, crafted by veterans, is designed to support hard-working stock trucks and mildly modified 6.7L Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks up to 500 horsepower. It tackles frequent OEM failures by incorporating a triple disc torque converter, billet input, extra overdrive clutches, set up for high pressure transmission tuning standard (tuneless pressure update optional), billet valve body along with other enhancements. The Goerend billet triple disc torque converter provides multiple benefits. Including a much stronger lockup mechanism, as well as a custom stator that is vastly stronger than the OE types used in the standard low stall dual disc or even competitors billet dual discs. The custom stator also provides a much more efficient fluid coupling for low speed work where lockup is not commanded. The billet input shaft provides extra assurance against major transmission damage while towing heavy. Why risk reusing a stock input shaft that may have been abused in a past life?
2007.5-2018
The 68RFE transmission was the first transmission that was designed exclusively for Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks. Released by Chrysler in 2007, 68RFE transmissions were engineered for the increased torque of diesel engines with modified internal components and came equipped with a much larger bell housing compared to that of the former Dodge 545RE transmissions. The overdrive clutch is widely known for its common failures within the 68RFE transmission unit. Each of Veteran's Powertrain Performance built 68RFE transmissions address overdrive clutch failure along with other common issues through several upgrades including providing extra clutch capacity with additional overdrive clutches. Veteran's Powertrain Performance 68RFE transmission solutions meet each of our customer's demands from basic stock options, extreme towing performance or 1,000 HP street/strip racing.
